Johnson suspended parliament to stop MPs blocking his policies, supreme court told | Guardian News



Boris Johnson’s five-week prorogation of parliament prevented MPs from scrutinising the government for ‘no rational reason’, the supreme court has heard.

 

Summing up the case against the government, Lord Pannick QC argued that the length of prorogation had been influenced by the prime minister’s desire to stop parliament obstructing his policies – amounting to an improper use of power.
